Buildhouse™ was founded in 2017 by Mark Rylant, who has been in the business of modern prefab for 17 years. Mark co-founded another modern prefab company, Method Homes in 2007. 

Mark spent 10 years as an owner at Method, where he led construction and built a team, culture and processes focused on innovative new ways to build high-end architecture, off-site. 

After 10 years of building custom prefab for clients all over the country, from the Hamptons in New York to Sonoma wine country to the San Juan Islands, Mark moved on to start Buildhouse and focus on a new model. 

A new model that is vertically integrated allowing control over costs, quality and schedule. A model that allows for repetitive designs and processes that ultimately deliver value to clients in a simpler way while fully optimizing off-site construction.

As much as our clients are buying beautiful prefab homes from us, they are also buying into our process.
